FIVE GUYS NAMED MOE
If you want a show that will get you on your feet “Five Guys Named Moe” is the show for you. Bringing you the hits of Mr Louis Jordan and written by Clarke Peters this show will literally have you doing a conga line around the auditorium and straight to the bar. The show began its life at the Theatre Royal, Stratford East, London where it was snapped up by Sir Cameron Macintosh at which time he moved the show into the West End for what should have been a 3 month run, but 6 years later the show continued to pack them in.
Paul joined the company in its 2nd year playing the role of Eat Moe after which the show opened in Melbourne Australia where he reprised the role. It has been 20 years since the original production but August 2010 will see the revival of the show at the world famous Edinburgh Festival before returning to the Theatre Royal,Stratford East to finish its run, so for those of you who missed it the first time around this is your chance to join the conga line.
AVENUE Q
In 2008 Paul understudied and played the role of Gary Coleman in the award winning “Avenue Q”. The show is a combination of the Muppet Show and Sesame Street with an adult theme, it is one of the funniest shows you will ever see.
The show transferred from Broadway to the West End in 2005 and continues to bring laughter to thousands of people.
DANCING IN THE STREETS
“Dancing in the Streets” is the hit tribute show which was brought to you by the producers of “Thriller Live” and “The Ratpack”. The show saw audiences going wild for the Motown sound. It is a recreation of a TV special hosted by Dusty Springfield in 1965 where Motown was introduced to the UK for the first time.
Paul joined the first tour of the show and sang the songs of Smokey Robinson, The Temptations, and The Four Tops. Martha Reeves was on that same tour as the MC which of course was a huge honour, and also to be sharing the stage with such a legend. The show then did a 2nd tour which culminated in a West End transfer where it stayed for over 2 years.
THE RATPACK
If you want to see a show that is full of glitz and glamour and packed with the most memorable songs then the “Ratpack” is definitely the show for you. The production ran in the West End for 5 years and still continues to fill theatres in the UK and internationally. Paul played the role of Mr Sammy Davies Jnr in the West End production for 8 months, and to have the opportunity to sing all those incredible songs every night with a 15 piece orchestra led by Barry Robinson was really a dream come true for him.
STARLIGHT EXPRESS
In 1998 Paul landed one of the most challenging roles he has ever played, the role of Electra in the German production of “Starlight Express”.
The show is now in its 22nd year and there is no sign of the show coming to an end anytime soon, he stayed in the show for over 2 years and it is one of the most incredible experiences he has had in his career to date.
THE LION KING
The multi-award winning “Lion King” is still wowing audience across the world with its unforgettable costumes and set designs. The show is now in its 9th year in London. Paul really enjoyed being part of the singing ensemble in the show’s 2nd year in which he was taught by the award winning composer Lebo M.
He defies anyone to see the show and not be moved by its incredible opening scene where all the animals of the pride land fill the auditorium.
DESPERATELY SEEKING SUSAN
“Desperately Seeking Susan” was a musical adaptation of the hit movie starring Rosanna Arquette and Madonna. It ran at the Novello Theatre in the West End of London. It featured the music of Blondie and a new song penned by Debbie Harry, and as you can see from the pictures below Paul played a cross dressing shopkeeper called Tina who became a close friend of Susan in the show. He sang Blondie’s hit “Maria” in 3 inch heel leopard skin shoes and a crazy wig.
AINT MISBEHAVIN
Paul understudied and played the role of both men in the West End production of “Aint Misbehavin”.
The show features the music of Fats waller who invented a unique style of piano playing called “Stride Piano”.
The show has a cast of just five and features songs such as: Aint Misbehavin, Black and Blue, Your Feets Too Big and This Joint Is Jumpin.
SWEET CHARITY
“Sweet Charity” is the story of Charity Hope Valentine a dancehall hostess who is desperate to find a new life. This takes her on a journey which introduces her to some very outlandish characters. Paul’s character was one of those: Big Daddy runs the “Rhythm of Life Church” where anything goes. In the movie the role is played by the incomparable Sammy Davies Jnr alongside Shirley Maclaine’s Charity. Paul was part of the “English Theatre” production in Frankfurt, Germany after which the show returned to the Queens Theatre, Hornchurch, UK.
CHORUS LINE
The musical “A Chorus line” tells the story of a group of aspiring performers auditioning to be in the next big Broadway show. It really is the story of any performer who has been through that terrifying audition process. Paul played the role of Ritchie in the 2003 Crucible theatre production, choreographed by Karen Bruce, and directed by Nicolai Foster. The show was a sellout, and it was also physically one of the toughest shows he has ever done as it opens with a 25 minute audition sequence which includes a jazz, ballet, and tap combination and ends with one of the most glitzy finales you might ever see: “One Singular Sensation”!
GRAND HOTEL
2005 saw the prestigious Donmar Warehouse in london’s West End brought to life with the Luther Davies hit musical “Grand Hotel” starring Mary Elizabeth Masterantonio and directed by multi-award winning director Michael Grandage.
Grand Hotel tells a tale of thwarted love.

The show won best revival of a musical at the Olivier Awards 2006.
MY ON AND ONLY
“My one and only” is a Gershwin classic and is packed with songs which are now jazz standards. The show ran at the world renowned “Chichester Festival Theatre”. Paul’s role was one of 3 Rhythm Boys who are the cupids of the show, steering the lovers in the right direction. After a successful run in Chichester the show transfered to the Piccadilly Theatre in London’s West End.
ITSY BITSY SPIDER
“Itsy Bitsy Spider” is the enchanting Caribbean folk tale of Anansi The Spider and all the scheming he gets up to.
Directed by Ben Thomas and choreographed by Paul J Medford the show ran at London’s Bloomsbury Theatre.
Paul played the role of the Ladybird who has an explosive duel with the Black Widow Spider.
CHRISTMAS CROONER
2010 saw Paul playing the role of the unforgettable Nat King Cole in the production Christmas Crooners alongside Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby, the show toured the UK and Ireland to sell out audiences.

Christmas 2011/12 see's the lavish hit "Annie" brought to the West Yorkshire Playhouse, Leeds.
Paul plays the role of radio personality "Bert Healy" who sings one of many hits from the show, "You're Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile" the other famous and well loved songs include "Tomorrow" "It's a hard Knock Life" and "Easy Street" the show has recieved numerous 5 star reviews and is playing to packed houses.
Annie tells the story of an orphan who is in search of her parents however she is introduced to Billionaire Oliver Warbucks (Duncan Preston) who decides he would like to adopt her, the show takes you on an emotional but optimistic journey.

"YOU CAN DO IT" is a brand new musical written by Roger Wright, Starring Roger who was a finalist on ITV's Superstar and Paul Hazel who's west end credits include, Lion King, Dancing in the streets, Avenue Q, Five Guys Named Moe and the RatPack. The show was co directed and co and Produced by Paul and Roger. This show has got a bit of comedy in it, classic songs it's a feel good party show which will get you out of your seats!.. featuring songs from Marvin Gaye, Otis Redding, Nat King Cole, sammy Davies Junior and so much more.. You Can Do It played at the Leicester square theatre in London's West end.
ELEGIES
Started in 1985, the AIDS Memorial Quilt memorialises the lives lost to HIV with a series of personalised panels that, as they have become stitched together, form the largest – and yet most intimate – piece of public art in the world. That artwork inspired the creation of Elegies For Angels, Punks and Raging Queens, which strives to achieve the same effect with a combination of songs and free verse monologues.
The original writer Bill Russell adapted the script for this production and was in attendance throughtout rehearsals.
Paul performed in this emotional show at Londons Criterion Theatre in 2015.

Carnaby street is a brand new 60's musical telling the story of "Jude" a musician from Liverpool who travels to London to seek fame and fortune, he meets various characters one of which is "Lily" played by Paul, a cross dressing couturier who becomes the stylist for Jude, Paul sings such hits as "Bend me, shape me, Son of a preacher man, Poison ivy, Summertime blues and Three steps to heaven. Carnaby street is directed by Bob Thompson (Dreamboats and Petticoats, Blood brothers and Evita) and choreographed by Carole Todd (Dreamboats and Petticoats, Dancing in the streets and Soul Sister) the show is a must see for lovers of great 60's music.
PUTTIN ON THE RITZ
Puttin on the Ritz is a celebration of 1920's/30's music from George Gershwin and Irvin Berlin to Fats Waller and Louis Armstrong. The show featured Lorna Luft (Daughter of Judy Garland) and toured the uk.
CINDERELLA
Paul was directed in this production of Cinderella by Bonnie Lythgoe and the show was produced by Nigel Lythgoe. Its was extremely successful pulling in record breaking audiences at the Millfield Theatre.
